School Already?

Yes, school has begun in our house. We've decided to try school all year round, 9 weeks on, 3 weeks off. We'll see how it goes. We were in desperate need for order in our days. We were beginning to feel stagnant.

The first day back went okay. Gem had a meltdown about cursive (of all things). She was completely overwhelmed. Shakespeare was fine in all his subjects, but really struggled with reading because I only made him read 3 or 4 books all summer. Oh well--we'll all get back in the swing of things. It's just difficult for all of us the first week or so.



History is our bright subject. Later this week and into next, we'll be making double sided war axes, Celtic cloaks, and war-painted t-shirts. Then we'll spike our hair and put on all the gear and have a war. Shakespeare and Popcorn will love it, I'm sure. Does anyone have an empty wrapping paper tube that I can have? We'll keep you updated.
