A Beautiful Day

Today, it's in the mid 70's! I turned off the heater and threw open the windows. Then we had lunch outside, did a bit more school in the wonderful sunshine and then I cut the kids loose. While I spring cleaned the kids climbed trees and ran barefoot through the yard. I love this weather, without bugs too.

A few days ago our neighbor got a new refrigerator. We asked for the box so the kids could make a house. They have been playing in it every day and making windows and drawing on it with chalk. Watching them brings back wonderful childhood memories.

I love that Popcorn looks just mildly distressed in the refrigerator box picture. It's as though he's saying, "I know this isn't a close-up so I'm not going to cry all out. I'll simply furrow my brow to show my displeasure that you yet again insist upon taking part of my soul with each click of your Kodak."

I miss my big sister. Mark doesn't care about me anymore, so you're all I have left. After all, MY SISTER always called me when she came to town. MY SISTER even made special plans to meet me for the few hours that she was near during her busy travels. MY BROTHER, on the other hand, is a good-for-nothing so-and-so who ought to get kicked out of the family (not that it would effect change in any practical terms, given that we don't see him anyway even when he's in the same town). Perhaps we can take up the Amish practice of shunning.
