Guess Where?

I had 3 days of training last week for my homeschool group for this fall. Jon took a few days off to watch the 4 big kids and decided to head south with them. Where did he end up? See if you can guess.

That's right! Jon's mom!

On Thursday, Sarah and I flew down and joined the group at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Bradenton. They got to see and hold their 15th grandchild for the first time.

After playing in the pool for three days, Gem declared that their house was better than Disney World. Ha! It certainly was cooler.

Yard Beautiful Update

The flower bed is actually done and I even took pictures this morning, but Jon took the camera and 4 kids to Florida this afternoon and I forgot to download them first.

He split the lilies and dispersed them around this entire section. Also planted a crepe myrtle to the left of the porch.



You can see the crepe myrtle in the distance. Also, this morning Jon yanked that flowering bush thing (left side of picture) out of the ground. I married a Kabota. It will be nice not to mow around it anymore. It tends to get in the way of the zip line too.

7 Weeks Old

Dig It!

My hubby likes to garden/landscape. He makes things look beautiful. Here is an example of a job half done. It gives a great idea of what things look like before Jon gets ahold of them and then after.





He helped out a friend who lives on the campus the other day with mulch. They needed some for a play area under a tree and the tree service had just come through and left behind piles and piles of wood chips throughout the woods that run along the road that winds into the back part of the campus. (big breath) So...Jon ran up to the facility building and grabbed a toy. Wow! How we wish we had one of these at our house--well, maybe a mini version.

Popcorn had a fun ride with his daddy.

This year, Jon has really outdone himself. He has redone the entire front and back walks of the house in addition to planting a garden. He has transplanted, spread mulch, planted bushes, uprooted bushes, built stone walls, and in general, has thrown dirt around all day long (and often into the night--even with a flashlight) until everything is green and beautiful. He comes in filthy every night, but happy. He loves the work. I think he would do well in landscaping if he wanted a different career.


Sinatra adores anything on wheels, but goes nuts over big things on wheels. He loved the front loader.

Yes, he is "naked as a jay bird!" After pooping his pants twice I just slathered him with sunscreen and let him go the way of the Garden of Eden. Such benefits to being three years old.



Here is a more decent shot of the twerp with his mom and big brother.



We built this sandcastle the night before a turtle came onto the beach and dug a nest and laid all her eggs. We forgot to fill in the trench and the turtle came within about ten feet of it. Whew!
