"Was it that screen that you propped out there?" I asked. Couldn't have been. That was too much noise.
So, Jon looked out the window. The tree.

The flowering pears are known as 20 year trees. Ours made it 19. They're beautiful in the spring and grow very quickly. I think that is why the housing development planted them. But over the last few years neighbors have had chunks of their trees splitting off. Oh well. So long front yard tree. We'll have to plant something that doesn't fall apart after 20 years.
I'm just glad that only the gutters were hurt.

geeze! glad you're ok! did it hit the van???
must be in the water 'round here... a tree hit our mailbox yesterday morning... i felt it hit the ground, quite a thud.
We just had our pear tree on the corner of our house chopped down and removed. We had problems with it splitting but it never actually fell. We always thought it was an accident waiting to happen and often thought it was going to break off during a storm. Glad no one was injured.
Wow! So very grateful no one was injured. It's going to look a little bare in the front yard for awhile but I know Jon will take care of the landscaping. Love from a grateful Nana...
Glad it wasn't more toward the house and that ya'll weren't in the yard! My brothers HATE those trees and encourage people to never plant them. During the KY ice storm, most of the trees they removed and cut down were Bradford Pear Trees that had broken off half way down the tree. Many people line their long winding driveways with them.
